At ChipXpert, the embedded systems internship is the final 3-month phase of the Advanced Embedded Systems with IoT programme. It follows 6 months of theory and labs and a 1-month project, so you arrive with Embedded C, protocols, Embedded Linux and IoT already in hand. During the internship you build a complete project from specification to system testing. It is part of the training programme, not a paid job, so no stipend is promised.
Is an embedded internship worth it without training?
Most embedded internships advertised for freshers ask for exactly the skills a degree teaches least: reading datasheets, writing register-level C, bringing up UART/SPI/I2C peripherals and debugging on hardware. Students who apply without that base often end up on testing or documentation tasks. What you do during the internship
- Specification analysis: turning a problem statement into requirements.
- Hardware and software architecture: choosing the controller, sensors and interfaces, then structuring the firmware.
- Coding and unit testing in Embedded C, and on Embedded Linux where the project needs it.
- Test design and system testing: writing test cases and proving the system works end to end.
Examples of internship projects from the curriculum: IoT home automation, a vehicle reverse-parking assist, obstacle detection for blind assistance, and a passenger safety system for cabs.

ECE, EEE, instrumentation and related graduates, and final-year students who can attend full time in Hyderabad or Bengaluru. Admission is through a 90-minute online test covering aptitude, digital electronics and electronic devices. A merit scholarship of up to 50% is available on assessment.
